The pacing is pretty horrible in this show tbh. The tomb only being two set pieces was a bit of a waste too. We should of had more time in there since the rest feels kinda filler. Idk this series has been a bit meh besides the last two eps. I think cutting away from the action in the first two eps didn’t help either :rip:

Considering this is the first MCU Disney Plus Show of a new incoming character. I think it’s fine. It’s just the lack of action and the lack of connective tissues to the MCU. Hawkeye, Loki, Falcon and Wanda worked because they were established and we got to see thier truama/PTSD/Regrets from Endgame. MoonKnight first episode was fire! If they focus on the psych ward/Mental patient angle for the majority of the show, and had visions of him fighting crime as a superhero in his delusions, this show would be stellar. I’m enjoying it, but it definitely has some stale moments. If this gets green light for a 2nd season, they really should up the action to Daredevil level or have him interact with other MCU characters. Ms. Marvel is next and I hope that is entertaining

Action is great. But the reason I LOVE Marvel is for their character exploration and development. Makes you actually care for the character.

Moon Knight finale kinda sums up the entire series for me. Half the time I was like Wtf am I watching. I wasn’t expecting things to get so big and epic that fast? finale was Just ok, Oscar is the standout but MoonKnight as a hero is Mid.  Best fights in the whole show for sure

Spoiler

The pacing is fast and not in a good way. However we finally got action sequences and some parts were pretty cool. Like the switching between the MoonKights in real time. But the writing and overall pacing of the episode was DC level bad. I actually liked the CGI and Layla’s fights. Honestly felt like an actual superhero show when she saves the girl and becomes a avatar. And the alligator look realistic. The Godzilla like Monster battle was random but added to the fun. And thank god they killed those other gods. Anyways It just felt like this episode was so rushed and crammed, they could have erased or re-worked episode 2-4. Episode 1 and 5 are really the standout episode from a story and character view. The ending and end credits also just made me feel like I wasted several episodes of filler. Take Oscar Isaac performance out and this show is pretty meh all around. MoonKight gets overshadowed multiple times, and even when he has cool scenes Steven is the better of the 2. I get they wanted this to be self contained but still as a superhero, MoonKight didn’t really wow me. Steven is a great character, Layla was cool. Arthur became a typical villain. 6/10.

I agree with most of this. As I suspected, there was way too many storylines to close in just 40 minutes and the result was sloppy and rushed, there's no way around it. They should've spent less time on the Marc/Steven drama in the early episodes in favour of a more robust second half of the season. The resuscitation scene was really corny (almost teen drama level) and I genuinely don't understand if the psych ward portion was real or not (I think it was, but it's so confusing). It was also a really bad choice to let the final battle be resolved off screen by a personality we didn't even meet yet, like what the f*ck was that? :skull:

That being said, I'm surprised they finally showed Ammit. I was convinced we were not going to see her considering they didn't show any other god excluding Tawaret. They finally scratched the itch for action sequences because the ones we got were really really cool. Both Moon Knight and Layla were amazing in those fights, I truly wish we got to see more of that throughout the season. Glad they at least resolved things with Harrow, it'd been very bad to leave them open considering the threat he and Ammit are, but the third personality was introduced way too late. I wonder if they're going to continue Moon Knight's story in a second season or in the movies. I hope it's the former.

All in all an ok show, enjoyable but not as outstanding as some people make it to be. It would've been way better with just a few adjustments.

Yeah the psych ward confused me too. Arthur was a patient, but the events of konshu and egypt were real? I still not sure what that was all about

I Also would prefer MoonKnight to return in a movie rather then a season 2. Preferably Blade, as a cameo or support character

The Asylum as experienced by Marc/Steven was never real. It was just the Afterlife and a way for them to deal with their trauma. However,

Harrow in the Asylum at the end was real and I'm guessing he ended up after what happened to him in the finale.

Also, I had known for a while that Jake would only appear in the PCS and that he would speak Spanish so it was funny seeing people being convinced we saw him in Episode 5 :fan:

This was bad but at least it was better than Hawkeye.

While not one of the best Marvel shows at all,  this did have one of the best finales :clap3:

Spoiler

The reveal of Marc's third personality was a serve :clap3:

What happened to all those people in Cairo?? They just die?…

I thought the show was all right. The pacing was a bit weird which made it hard for me to connect with the characters and made the high stakes look meaningless.

I don't get it. Where did Jake come from now?

He was always there. The show teased a third personality a few times and it pretty much confirmed it with that shaking locked up coffin that both Marc and Steven saw in the afterlife. What we don't know is how was the Jake persona created. We know Steven was created for Marc to cope with his abusive mother.

I actually enjoyed the finale. It did a decent job wrapping up the arc. I do think an extra 10 minutes would've benefitted it though. The ending was too sudden. Like what happened with Layla. How did Marc get back to his flat? Why was he tied up again? Is it because of Jake. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a second season to answer these questions. It's so wild that this show has very minimal references to the overall MCU.

Layla is the MVP of this show. I really hope we will see more of her!

This, a hundred times this! And to think she’s an original character too :clap3:

OMG this is hands down the worst Marvel TV show and one of the worst Marvel things in general. It was so ******* corny and badly written, literally DCEU level :ahh:

Them spending all that time early in the series so they had to wrap up everything nonsensically in 40 minutes is :rip:

The gods vs Harlow **** happening offscreen, and then the black out leaving us with no big final fight :rip:

All the magic traveling back and forth between locations :rip:

Harlow ordering his minions to search for Layla in the pyramid and the minions inexplicably appearing in ******* downtown Cairo doing anything but that :rip:

That scene with the girl going “are you an Egyptian superhero” so out of place and serving “are you wearing the Chanel boots” realness :rip:

Konshu saying that he didn’t need Layla as an avatar because he had Jake but Jake was also dead so his plot makes no sense :rip:

WandaVision remains supreme, updated ranking:

1) WandaVision

2) Hawkeye

3) TF&TWS

4) Loki

5) Moon Knight

Just finished it, I think they should’ve spent less time with the whole Marc and Steven plot during the episodes 2-4, and give more time to this final episode, my main dislike was the fight happening off screen, they could’ve kept it and still make it look like it wasn’t Marc or Steven who beat up Hallow, Amitt looked so real tbh, I liked Laylas suit a lot and the CGI was cool, some parts were corny or fast paced but overall I really liked it, 8.5/10, top three MCU shows alongside Wandavision and What If

Just finished and omg the Jake reveal :jonny5: Murder me papi

I enjoyed the fight scenes this episode. i thought the switching was really cool and Layla was amazing. I will say it did feel really rushed which is why I think these shows need more than just 6 episodes.  Overall though 8.5/10

1) WandaVision

2) TF&TWS

3) Moon Knight

4) Hawkeye

5) What If?

6) Loki :pukey:
