At some point he has to drop off a bit Well ofc i didnt say that Novak played bad, i mean it was basically almost as 50 50 as it gets.. both 23 sets, 168 to 166 points.. eye test wise Alcaraz was just in better form tho, Djokovic made some unusual mistakes. Especially that damn volley on the break point in the 5th set. If Djokovic just plays that out he probably wins this He just won AO/FO and barely lost in the Wimbledon finale. He definitely has another couple years in him unless he suffers a bad injury. Edited July 16, 2023 by TaylenaStan

I still think that Venus Williams, at this stage in her career, could be an effective doubles specialist like Hsieh. Playing doubles would help Venus in her singles game as well. The problem is that Venus is stubborn and wants to play singles only because for whatever reason, she feels that she's too good for doubles. You can't win singles matches at slams at age 43 with that mindset.

fridayteenage Posted July 16, 2023 Posted July 16, 2023 here for alcaraz grabbing that elusive calendar slam, sometime this decade

I think Djoker will want to chase the oldest GS winner record (37 years, 62 days) before he retires.

However, if Nadal just wins a 2nd gold in singles at the Olympics, his double career golden slam (at least in my opinion) will be enough to keep him ahead of Djokovic, no matter how many slams he wins. Next year, no one of note is going to enter because it will be held at the same time as the Paris Olympics (where all the top players will be). I highly doubt the tournament will be continued in 2025, with Toronto and Cincy (Charlotte?) both expanding to 2 weeks. Those clay tournaments, especially Hamburg and Umag, are going to be juicy next year, as we will see a lot of top players enter them to prepare for the Olympics. Edited July 19, 2023 by pride4jc1222
