Delirious Posted October 25, 2022 Posted October 25, 2022 Barbarian is cute but that's IT. 7/10 Might rate it even lower tbh.
Uncatena Posted October 25, 2022 Posted October 25, 2022 Barbarian will be the new Malignant in terms of: if you get it you get it but if you don't you don't

mellenthin Posted October 25, 2022 Posted October 25, 2022 Yeah Barbarian even outsold Pearl. me fears. Holy **** what a masterpiece. All aspects of it were just so refreshing, innovative and well done. 4.5/5. I can't believe we got TWO masterpieces like these this year.

Reverse Warholian Posted October 25, 2022 Posted October 25, 2022 (edited) Also FYI if you're a Canadian girl like me, Barbarian won't be uploaded to Crave (our HBO Max) but will instead be available to stream on Disney+ tonight. Can't wait for my 2nd viewing Edited October 25, 2022 by Reverse Warholian
Julianna Calm Down Posted October 25, 2022 Posted October 25, 2022 Um So barbarian was okay felt like Rec and Don’t breathe had a baby entertaining but not outstanding

Coma Baby Posted October 25, 2022 Posted October 25, 2022 Halloween Ends' opening sequence (its best part) made me crave a new (good) Scary Movie. There’s so much high enough profile material from the last 5-6 years or so that could be referenced. Also love how no one remembers that mediocre Scream movie from the start of the year. At least TCM and Halloween‘s awful entries managed to be memorable.
Totami Legend Posted October 25, 2022 Posted October 25, 2022 Barbarian first half had me GAGGED WOW currently watching second half 2 hours ago, Julianna Calm Down said: Um So barbarian was okay felt like Rec and Don’t breathe had a baby entertaining but not outstanding rec is one of my favorites oh wow I’m eating
mokitsu Posted October 25, 2022 Posted October 25, 2022 oh barbarian was... not what i expected and i'm not really a fan of where it went i'm keeping the first half though. the scene with bill skarsgard sleeping was unsettling AF.
Bandito Posted October 25, 2022 Posted October 25, 2022 Given the fact that Michael was only in like 8 minutes of the original Halloween, the complaints about his lack of screen time in Ends doesn't really make sense for me. The movie is a serve and we got the iconic Corey Cunningham out of it, so it's a win in my book. Gotta respect a franchise that does something completely unexpected and interesting for its last entry rather than some all-out brawl that leads to an extreme body count (which is quite a relief since Kills did exactly that and was one of the worst films in the franchise).

Yeah just finished and I feel the same. Great experience tho
xrosup Posted October 25, 2022 Posted October 25, 2022 The first 40 minutes of Barbarian were good and so was the last act, but that middle section gave me whiplash
SmashingMiley Posted October 25, 2022 Posted October 25, 2022 The Barbarian simultaneous praise and dragging here makes me even more hyped tbh. The twist must have been a crazy unexpected one like that of GODlignant and I can’t wait to see how ridiculous it is Trashloween Ends getting ha rightful backlash tho
SmashingMiley Posted October 25, 2022 Posted October 25, 2022 Also just finished Hellraiser 2022. It was decent to good-ish, definitely not great. My biggest complain is the Cenobites. They look like they wear cheap Halloween costumes instead of, you know, actual skin/flesh The budget wasn’t that small for sure, they could have got much better prosthetics considering the OG which came out 35 years ago look more realistic Also the story doesn’t warrant 2 hour runtime. They could have cut off, like 20-30 minutes for a more packed and faster paced experience.
BeachRat Posted October 25, 2022 Posted October 25, 2022 saving Barbarian for the weekend after going to major halloween events (maybe will skip halloween ends after all that i've read who am i kidding i'll watch it) if it's anything like Malignant which is one of my favorite horror movies ever i'll stan so hard (in terms of vibes, cause i know they are nothing alike plot wise etc.) for now streaming Guillermo del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities and kinda living??

The level of unpredictability in each act is insane
