I disagree with her about Hsu’s role and Awkwafina being a better choice. Awkwafina always plays these types of quirky characters, and doesn’t have much range IMO.

I think Awkwafina would've done well (she's excellent in The Farewell) but I also disagree with her, Stephanie Hsu was fantastic. 

 

It's also funny how she talks about how limited the audience for this is when its doing very well at the box office so far for the kind of film it is.

Imagine watching the trailer for EEAAO, seeing the A24 logo, seeing who directed it, then expecting a mainstream action/multiverse movie. Half of the non-spoiler review was spent complaining about disingenuous marketing and unrealistic expectations set by random tweets. 

 

Ma'am can you please just review the movie objectively on its own terms?

On one hand I always enjoy Grace perspective on the business side of things. But I feel sometimes she lets the business side of her cloud her judgement on whether the actual movie is good or not. She's really been doing that a lot lately.

I really don’t know what to make of her review of EEAAO. Seems she’s saying she liked just to avoid the dragging she’d get if she’d out right say she didn’t enjoy it, lol. I’m probs wrong tho…maybe she really did think it was a “superhero” movie.
