Triple H doesn't hate the women. He's been working on getting creative to repackage a lot of them with a plan for redebut. As far as Rhea not having a match and Becky/Trish being removed, he doesn't want to have bloated carts with 5 minute matches. Let's not forget last yeah Seth was pulled from SS and still had a prominent segment. I can see that happening here. Fact is Rhea doesn't have a credible feud and Becky/Trish aint giving what people think it is. I've posted before there are issues between HHH/Becky and it boils down to while she's popular, she's hasn't been a starmaker.

Shotzi is gearing up for a big push. Isla Dawn and Alba Fyre are going to be the main challengers for the tag titles, working their way back up the cards to challenge Chelsea and Sonya.

Raquel has been protected for the past year now and is decently over. In fact she's been feuding with Rhea for the past month and the match was ready until she was written out with an "injury." She's absolutely a credible challenger for the world title. I don't think it's, say, Becky/Rhea level marquee but it moreso is than Paul/Ricochet in a spotfest or Drew/Gunther for a midcard title, or that random battle royale :rip:

I wouldn't go as far as to say H hates women, esp when we get so much of them on Raw, but he once again exposes his preference for the men. Disappointing considering his booking of the girls in NXT.

As long as they keep the Becky/Trish and Rhea/Raquel thing going by giving them segments in SummerSlam I think it's fine in the long run, but it's still not a good look. I do appreciate that the women's storylines have had really good continuity but they still need to get their priorities straight.

Also I hate the idea that a women's match got cut but Roman's match/post-match shenanigans will likely still run over 30 minutes. :doc:

Logan/Ricochet is pretty over with a very vocal segment of the crowd, though, so they know it's gonna look good on TV (provided the "spotfest" doesn't turn into a "botchfest," which I think is a very likely possibility lol).  Plus, Logan is a celebrity, and when it comes to PPVs (but especially Mania and Summerslam), celebrity involvement has always been a priority over the rest of the roster.

Gunther's PPV matches always get a good live reaction, too, so that's probably why HHH wants him on.  Also, Drew is a high-profile return, so that makes it a bit easier to justify his PPV placement -- same as Trish's return matches at Mania and Night of Champions.

As for the battle royal, I think we can all agree that it only exists because WWE failed to book LA Knight in a meaningful angle heading towards SS.  If they had, most of the midcarders and jobbers in it wouldn't even be traveling to Detroit this weekend, and Slim Jim would be sponsoring a very different match.

Imo Logan's status as a ~celebritiy in WWE~ has lost all its luster considering he's been fairly regular since last year and he's literally signed talent (familiarity breeds contempt and all that). He's not a Snooki/Cain Velasquez-type attraction anymore, he's kind of a lessor Ronda and he shouldn't be guaranteed PPV spots.

And you mention Gunther matches having good live reactions, which is true, but so does Rhea's. Drew's not been that hot since returning either, and he was in midcard hell before his break too. I don't think their match MUST be on the card. Same with the LA Knight Memorial Battle Royale, just give him a lil segment where he beats Flop Dollar's ass. It'd have the same effect as giving him a meaningless win against miscellaneous flops nnn

Just to be clear I'm not saying these matches don't deserve to be booked (well, except for the Battle Royale). But over Rhea? Being the world champ alone should give her precedence for SS, but when you consider that she's like top 3 hottest acts in the companu, AND she has a ready-made match already? H wouldn't treat a men's world champ like this, esp not someone as over as Rhea.

Could we not have gotten rid of the useless battle royal or the ricochet vs that YouTube star? Becky vs Trish or a match with Rhea vs Liv/Raquel would have made so much sense than those.

WWE and Slim Jim today announced a multi-layered partnership that will begin with Slim Jim serving as the Presenting Sponsor of a marquee match at SummerSlam on Saturday, August 5 at Ford Field in Detroit. This partnership between the two iconic brands pays homage to their shared, savage past and marks the largest sponsorship deal in WWE history.

WWE and Slim Jim first crossed paths thirty years ago with a series of explosive, in-your-face Slim Jim commercials, featuring “Macho Man” Randy Savage debuting the famous tagline “Snap Into a Slim Jim!” that has remained a hallmark of the Slim Jim brand ever since. The two global brands will tap into that rich history with a reenergized, multi-platform campaign which begins with “The SummerSlam Battle Royal Presented by Slim Jim,” the first of several custom integrations at WWE’s Premium Live Events. As part of the pact, Slim Jim will also activate at Survivor Series in November, in addition to Royal Rumble and WrestleMania 40 in 2024.

In addition to the live event integrations, the WWE and Slim Jim partnership will include custom content and social media executions with Superstar talent, online sweepstakes to drive fan engagement, in-store activations and more.
