Am I going crazy? This is not the first take I've seen praising the mcdonalds move. He looks ridiculous, sounds old and crazy, AND denied a peaceful transfer of power through the McDonald's window. How the hell is he scoring a point with this visit? Am I in a bubble?

Ughhh lol. Multiple posts by accident. It glitched when I clicked save nothing happened. Then I refreshed the page and it worked. If either candidate can fix this site they have my vote

Bc these people are stupid. To stupid people, this comes off as him "being normal" because they don't take anything into account other than the photos. It's so annoying.

Gonna be real interesting if she loses despite being the much bigger beneficiary of Citizens United this time around.

The McDonald's visit is another example of how different rules apply to Trump than other candidates.ย Anyย other presidential candidate who tried something like that would get lambasted as being performative and condescending. And if it was discovered that any other presidential candidate had actually faked the entire thing by serving pretend "customers" in a closed store, that would be the top story about the event from every mainstream media outlet. But because it's Trump and he's consistently held to a different standard, it's viewed as "charming" and nobody outside of niche corners of political Twitter are talking about how it was fake.

ย

It's understandably very frustrating because how do you even fight against an electorate and media class that has just decided to give your opponent a pass on everything for no apparent reason? I always talk in here about how campaigns need to meet voters where they are and not where they want them to be, but sometimes the place where the voters are is really f*cking dumb :rip:ย Like I just genuinely don't know how she's supposed to counter this kind of stuff. There's other aspects of her campaign that could be improved (she's unnecessarily risking alienating young voters and Michigan voters with her language on Israel, and I still say her sole focus in the last few weeks on trying to pick up Republicans is going to look silly in hindsight when 96% of Republicans vote for Trump just like they did in 2020), but even if she improved on those things, she'd still have the disadvantage of fundamentally not playing on the same field as Trump.

Exactly all of this ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ
ย

Trump plays by different rules and is judged on by different and lower standards and gets by with it. The media promotes it and doesn't ย hold him accountable like they do other candidatesย

The tea with Trump's McDonald's visit is that it plays with GOP's anti-liberal populist narrative. There is a perception that liberals look down on service labor workers hence while Trump may look ridiculous in our eyes, for conservatives, working class people and undecided voters, they see an underdog ย being ridiculed and bullied.

The disappointing thing about this is this is how Dems should play in the first place (like I can see Bill Clinton, lucid Joe Biden or 2008 Obama doing this). Unfortunately, it also shows how Dems have really lost touch with their working class baseย

ย

Its been almost a decade since Trump went down on the escalator and its ridiculous to see that most partisan Dems still havent figured out Trump's gameplay. The orange man thrives in chaos and distrust

Well, Dems have completely gravitated towards elevating the already rich and powerful for years now. You mentioned 2008 Obama, but that points out where the realignment started to happen. Democrats becoming the party of elites really began with Obama 2012, and that was exacerbated by Hillary Clinton and her Wall Street friendly speeches. Dems don't even want to admit that they went out of their way to lose the working class. Instead, the narrative is that the working class fled them because of racism and sexism. That's the excuse they've relied on, and that thinking will probably take root even more if Kamala loses. Not the introspection that maybe Kamala was a historically weak candidate. Not the perception that Democrats care more about PMC donors more than workers. Nope. None of that. It's all because the American electorate are an irredeemable basket of deplorables and there's nothing else Kamala could have done.

A pair of Christian students trolled by Kamala Harris and mercilessly mocked by the crowd at her rally at the University of Wisconsin-La Cross last week insist they were "there for the right reasons."

Grant Beth and Luke Polaske, both juniors at the school, told "Fox & Friends Weekend" that they felt persecuted akin to Jesus and his early followers after they shouted such things as, "Christ is king!" when the Democratic vice president-turned-presidential candidate started talking about abortion rights.

One of them said Harris even sarcastically waved to him and gave him "an evil smirk" as he held up the cross around his neck and pointed to her while being booted with his pal.

"I was pushed by an elderly woman. We were heckled at, we were cursed at, we were mocked, and that's the biggest thing for me personally," Beth said. "In reflection of the event, Jesus was mocked. You know, his disciples were mocked, and that's OK.

"In reality, we did God's work, and we were there for the right reasons, and God is watching us in this moment," he said. "I'm all about being a cordial person no matter your beliefs, but I do believe that we were sent there by God."

Polaske said the duo were roughly 20 to 30 yards away from where Harris was standing at the event at the time โ€” and described her as giving "an evil smirk" to him at one point.

"She was actually waving to me. I took this cross off my neck that I wear, and as we were getting asked to leave, I held it up in the air and waved at her and pointed at her, and she looked directly in the eye, kind of gave me an evil smirk," he recounted.

I mean the people propping Trump up and taking over his inner circle right now are right wing Christian bigots who would love to do that to us. So it's not far fetched ๐Ÿ’€
