The idiocy of this whole "Special Operation" is mindboggling to me. The mixture of lack of planning, short foresight, stupidity and plain lunacy would be hilarious if thousand of people weren't losing their lives almost everyday. The parallels between Russia is so apparent and laughable that it's surprising the Russians aren't being more discreet or creative with their fascism.

More than likely going to resemble what has been the ongoing fight in the Donbas since 2014 that also got little to no coverage globally (especially in the West) except this time its for a wider swath of territory from Kherson to Kharkiv as Putin wants first and foremost a land link along the coast from Russia to Moldova. At the moment Ukraine appears to be holding onto Odessa but that may not last long. 

 

On the diplomatic front, most of the attention has been completely diverted from Ukraine to the fight between Turkey and Finland/Sweden on joining NATO.
