Many Swifties were dead set on her not interrupting the rerecordings era for a new album or saying it wouldn’t make sense for her to do that. Only for her to release one and become 10x bigger after it.

 

Even missteps like ME! made way for eventual redemption arcs like Folklore, because the backlash definitely pushed her in the direction of making music in that style of Folklore. She always gets the last laugh.
