Jessie Posted October 27 Posted October 27 The mute way this has been released compared to her side projects this year is frustrating and makes things feel more scattershot than intentional (most likely because a lot of promo is being booked for nearer the album in 2025 and this is the palette cleanser) but the song remains one of Gaga's best; I hope things kick up during the week, I'm assuming the MV is coming Thursday and I hope we get some kind of appearance / performance. Honestly the EMAs would work perfectly and no, she isn't above it. She needs to be present; elusiveness in the age of TikTok doesn't work. Jimmy Kimmel might not have set Happy Mistake's streaming stats on fire, but it was well received and generated good WOM amid the toxic black hole of FÁD's release. Not necessarily conventional promo, but anything that can move the needle and spread the song. Whether that's a viral performance, dance, tiktok, or pop culture moment i mean the reason we are even seeing Chappell explode this year is largely due to her performances going viral on tiktok, that's what started the momentum. please x3 & taste got massive starts due to their smart, well executed viral videos brat because of all the fun branding and marketing 1

And that's fine, I'm certainly not gonna take away from you the fact that you don't enjoy the song - that's okay. But my point still stands, none of her leads have really pushed the envelope lyrically, except maybe Bad Romance. That's probably part of the reason why this was chosen as the lead, her and her team probably felt there was a bit of safety in it.

It doesn't need to be more; it lends itself so well to performances / visuals (which we have crumbs of). We just need Gaga to put her foot on the gas and run us over instead of edging us down the road. 3
