I am OBSESSED with UK singer, producer, and composer Thomas Dolby's strong body of work The Golden Age of Wireless released in 1982! Such spectacular beats omg. Please recommend me similar-sounding synth-pop/new wave-electro-pop albums from the 80s.

There are many different versions of this album, but I think the best is the US version released by Capitol Records in 1984. I also recommend the re-mastered version of this album released in 2009!

You may know Thomas from his top 5 US and #1 Canada hit BOP "She Blinded Me with Science" whose iconic music video was played all over MTV at the time. Really fun song! Interestingly, it was much bigger in the states than in his native UK (Ellie's "Lights" teas!)

You may also know him from his Grammys performance alongside Stevie Wonder and Herbie Hancock

The nerd aesthetic was refreshing, and he's SO talented

My favorite song on the album has to be Flying North because of how EUPHORIC it is. Once that beat drops in at the 0:08 mark ... omg. Immediate smile.

This song gives a similar feeling, and I love the nostalgic sentiment of the song

And the darker cuts on the album are good too, like this creative dark bop about submarines. You don't hear something that sounds like this everyday

And the beautiful vocals on Airwaves

Also, can someone explain why he sings "we were the neon SISTERS", just wondering. I adore this song too (and understand what it's about, aside from the sisters part)
