"I hear those sleigh bells ringing"
I would've been okay with Mariah milking christmas every year if she serves us with new (or unreleased, where the fuck is Where Are You Christmas?) music, maybe some good reinditions and visuals. And even though Magical Christmas Special was cute watch, very beautiful, with Mariah looking better than ever it was also a bit lame, especially since she expands it this year again   'Mixes' on this soundtrack album isn't really creative or revamping, and her basically using Ariana collab for already released single (it hurts especially since she recorded new christmas song this year...with Khalid )

highlights: Oh Santa! (with Ariana Grande & Jennifer Hudson), Joy to the World (Magical Christmas Mix)

 

43    Foxes | Friends in the Corner EP
"Does it hurt to see how our smiles have changed?"
The main problem with this EP is that this was released too late - I mean, it belonds to last year with droplets. There's literally couple new songs with the ones she dropped last year. I loved most of it, but late release and little to no direction of this EP (despite amazing visuals) kinda affected my impression of it. I really hope she delievers with new album next year thought (all new singles are great actually).

Haunting. Dark. Emotional. Full of loneliness and regret. 'Exile' of evermore. Taylor's songwriting becoming better with each album tbh. PS: kinda would've preffered someone else on male vocals tbh  

128    Taylor Swift | Mr. Perfectly Fine (Taylor's Version)

"I thought you might be different than the rest, I guess you're all the same"
I never was interested nor in Taylor's unreleased material nor Fearless era. Welp, I was wrong, sis has some treasures in her vault Fun and sarcastic, catchy and nostalgic, and sounds as fresh as if it was written in 2020s. Could've been one of her classics tbh

"Did we fly too high just to get burned by the sun?"
Beautiful opening to an album and the world of 'star-crossed'-era. I really love the building up to an heavenly ending. And VMA performance was a perfection, she was so good live this era.

"I'm gonna go insane 'cause being grown up kind of sucks"
Well, cute nostalgic bop, one of the most generic tracks on the record. BUT I kinda hate this song for stealing the moment of 'Breadwinner' - real hit of the album  

 

125    Natalie Imbruglia | Maybe It's Great
"Was it ever happy ever?"
Australian pop royality returns again and finally with original music! Not my favorite track from album, but such a nice throwback, I love 90s vibe and angry delievery of this, would've been even better with more alternative/rock arrangement tbh. 

 

124    JoJo | Creature of Habit
"I don't even really need you, it's like I'm kinda scared to leave you"
I kinda ignored this song on its initial release, but after capsule project release I find myself returning this song day after day. And honestly, this is one of her all-time bests, sultry production (violins alone!), strickening lyrics, powerful vocals. This song feels so real and full of emotions, you just can't appreciate it. 

 

123    Birdy | Surrender
"I said I didn't miss you but I lied"
Stunning first single from Young Heart and still probably the weakest one. This feels like return to form for Birdy after her 'Piano Sketches' from last year. Such a beautiful, vulnerable and warming piece of music, I kinda ignored it mostly before album release, where it finally finds its place.

Yup, Friends In the Corner really was released late - as she loves to do! || Heard the JoJo song like 3 times now and I forget what it sounds like everytime  Double Taylor and Double Kacey back-to-back, and all 4 are great picks  coney island has been underrated since day 1 and Mr. Perfectly Fine is an anthem. Play that shit in a stadium or sumn!!!
