And even though it sounds bad on paper, result is amazing. She already explored this sound on some tracks from her debut, but here she feels free to experiment and record everything she wants. Heartbreaking, cloudy, moody, intimate, lush sound all over it. Great EP, amazing return, and I'm looking forward for the next step from her. It's so nice to hear and see her happy again. highlights: Dancing Round the Truth, Floating, Lay Low, In Your Room 33 Julia Michaels | Not In Chronological Order "He says I'm pretty upside down" It feels like a lifetime to wait her debut album to came out It also feels like a lifetime looking at her trying to find her sound. On her first album Julia tries to show the best of her, and even though it ended not without some failures/fillers, there's some of her best material ever. I'm glad to see her happy with her sound and image and I really hope she's not going to stop here, she's still has so much to tell. highlights: Undertone, Orange Magic, Lie Like This, Little Did I Know TOP 150 SINGLES 94 Selena Gomez, Rauw Alejandro | Baila Conmigo "¿Cómo te digo que no quiero hablar de amor?" Even though the EP was underwhelming as a whole, this song is a bop and a half! Incredibly catchy, memorable and just so passionate, you do really want to dance along, i'm not really into reggaeton, but this is such a vibe. 93 Kehlani | Altar "Stay just a little bit longer" I was like 'whoa, what a great jam Kehlani released' and then I actually listen to the lyrics. Doing a music about the lost ones is so uneasy, mostly because how hard and sad it can be, but Kehlani chooses another way - yes, your loved ones are gone, but you still can connect with them through spiritual relationships, and it's not even about real altar or something, it's about remembering, loving, praying. Amazing song. 92 The Weeknd, Ariana Grande | Save Your Tears "You look so happy when I'm not with you" Original song was already a well-written hit, one of the biggest highlights from After Hours, a sister to Blinding Lights with more nostalgia vibe and emotions. I was pretty surprised with Ariana feature, but in the end she fits this song so much, harmonizing, showing vocals and just being herself on a guest song. I just love how she makes already good song even better, making it not a remix with a feature, but a proper duet, I mean I rarely listen to album version since remix release. PS: I wish she served more power vocals in the final part, just as she did during live performance, they're insane! 91 Doja Cat | Need to Know "Sorry if I gave a random erection" I'm in a minority, but I need to confess that I never really loved this song as everyone else It's cute bop, but I find many other tracks from Planet Her being better. BUT this is probably her best solo song to showcase every of her talents - rapping, singing, vocalizing, harmonizing and being incredibly creative (I mean, music video is fucking fantastic). I just love how she never scared to being a freak, to be a little crazy or not like everyone else. She's truly a treasure. 90 Foxes | Kathleen "But you'll never know what you mean to me" Ugh, I'm such a sucker for heartbreaking/sad songs with explosive/dance/poppy choruses and this one is the perfect example of this. It's just so beautiful and comforting. 89 Katy B, Jaz Karis | Open Wound "I want to feel life again, I wanna be grateful" Unlike more 'calm' lead single to the EP, Open Wound opens her R&B roots even wiser, both danceable, vibey and emotive at the same time, this song feels like some natural bridge between 'Honey' sound and her new EP. 88 Agnes | 24 Hours "Walking through the fire all because of you" Wow, just wow, this song is like disco on some extreme drugs. It's so..agressive, explosive, sparky, yet extremly catchy. Really one of the best pop songs of the year and great introduction to her new sound/music.
