Interludes/Intros The following list highlights some excellent intros and interludes in 2021 of various albums that are really so good they should have been full length songs due to writing or melody, or just really was a great pause/palate cleanser in the placement of the album it's on, in no particular order! Ariana Grande - someone like u Charlotte Day Wilson/Daniel Caesar - Danny’s Interlude Madison Beer - Interlude Alessia Cara - Unboxing Intro JoJo - World of Sunshine *intro* JoJo - Good Enough *interlude* JoJo - Sugar & Carbs *interlude* JoJo - Nikki’s Sound Bath *interlude* Madison Beer - Default Madison Beer - The Beginning Justine Skye - Conscious Songs/Albums/EPs The following list highlights two bodies of work, one a soundtrack with just one original song, the other an ep that just missed my radar when making last year's list, that I enjoyed so much I couldn't omit it from this thread! RESPECT (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) Vocally - This album is magnificent from start to finish. Hudson fully captures the emotion and grit of the songs and emphasizes the lyrics in her run or cadence. Simply put, she did Aretha's catalogue justice, which only very few can do, and held no punches in giving it her all. I know her throat hurt after singing some of these lol, but as a listener it was very much appreciated. As for the one original track?... excellent!, stay tuned to see its very high ranking on my core list! The Passion - Nova Miller Discovered this girl very late last year as I was making my 2020 list and was completely blown away by her range, her whistles above all else. The music itself is essentially generic pop with lacklustre lyrics that could've been given to a Kim Petras/Ava Max type, but neither could sing her rendition if she takes a first pass. With more mature lyrics and proper, established artistry she could very much be one to watch! I enjoyed the mindless pop for much of the new year but i'm really excited to see what she grows into as an artist, and hopefully she isn't afraid to showcase that range in future discog entries!
