You mean SEA? SPS is sales and streaming

It's sales and streaming formula on Billboard. 1989 is eligible for Diamond in the USA (10M), the rule incorporating streaming on the Billboard charts was implemented in 1989's 4th week so its first 3 weeks of sales are missing. SPS era basically means album equivalent sales since 2015.

Its US only, it doesnt include units from before album release and it only includes YouTube since 2020

And its since December 2014. So the first weeks for 1989 arent included anyway

1989 is 11x platinum eligible in the US

What are these? There's no way 24k magic hasn't hit the 4m mark in SPS.

Like I said YouTube only since 2020, but always counted for RIAA and no pre-album SPS from the lead single

Its only from the chart run on the BB200

So is that 25’s full equivalent sales in the US then since it was released in 2015? I’m so confused by SPS.

Some surprising results, did not realize:

- Chris Stapleton has the biggest country album of recent times with a huge 5m+ units

- Fine Line already at 3m units and still growing big time, a 150% increase over his first album, not sure if that’s ever happened for an ex band member on their second album, usually the first is a huge deal and hard to increase significantly after (Face Value, Can’t Slow Down, Dangerously in Love, Justified, Love Angel Music Baby all followed this trend).

25 had it its full SPS era chart run on BB200 so yeah that's it's total BB200 total units. Ofcourse it's a bit higher when we include Hello's units before the album came out. As others said pre album release units are not included only units after the album started charting on BB200.

All albums released before December 13 2014 are missing units obviously.

All of them are criminally undercertified. SPS is not an accurate representation of popularity. If this was the list of the most popular albums at any point 15/20/25/30 years prior to that point, there would be at least a dozen Diamond albums among them

Still, the biggest female album from a pop girl who didn’t debut in the streaming era :clap3:

And the only reason Taylor’s albums are « coming for it » is because Rihanna hasn’t lifted a finger since 2016 whereas the other one drops 2 albums per year.

that's false. if anything they are more popular. how many people hear albums in full now compared to previous years. before you had to buy an album to hear it, now you can just listen to it with your regular subscription and a lot more happily do that. the SPS numbers are held back by streaming services inability to pay artists enough

or album sales in the past were inflated because people bought albums instead of the cd singles of popular songs

most people listen to playlists anyway and not to full albums

singles were most often available to buy (apart from occasional shenanigans from certain labels).

i don't know why you are all so insistent on trying to keep the SPS numbers down.

probably fans of older generation artists scared that the current generation artists could have album numbers anywhere near those of your faves'
