This is why Billboard’s credibility is in the toilet. You’re telling me that a song that is purchased many many MANY times by a rabid fanbase, that is taking advantage of website sales, is ranked higher on the charts than a song that literally everyone is hearing, and everyone is consuming? They need to fix their chart. Can’t wait to see Butter decimated in the Rolling Stones chart 

If they did that to Dua last week, they better did the same thing to Bots. Remove the fraud sales

This. Website sales have completely devalued what the Hot 100 was intended to be, which is an objective measure of overall song popularity. This isn't meant to target BTS in particular since they're not the only ones who have benefitted from sketchy website sale boosts, but website sales have made the chart WAY too susceptible to fanbase manipulation. Obviously there was always a bit of that going on to some degree, but it's gotten way worse now that there's nothing stopping rabid stans from downloading tens or even hundreds of copies of the same song purely to manipulate the chart.

 

I really hope Billboard either eliminates website sales entirely or at the very least reduces their weight, similar to how Youtube streams have reduced weight compared to on-demand streams.

exactly. It's not even about BTS themselves, as others have done it as well. but at this point it's about their fans and their entitlement. they act like Olivia is stealing the #1 from them when it is the OTHER way around. single charts should be different from album charts & these tactics should be audited.

At this point she already feels like a bigger hit maker than Billie

btw if she can’t get that no.1 this week she’s still very likely to get it the week after

hopefully Olivia gets it. her song is actually good, unlike the other.  she actually deserves it.

The fact that a song with over 60M streams in a week might not go #1 is blasphemy.  End these frauds Olivia

I think Bighit didn't think Olivia's g4u were a threat. To be honest, we all didn't see that coming.
