Thank you for the lovely reviews funnellegs and Rence - I'm glad you pointed out that it was more reminiscent of my first entry, since they both belong to the same "side" of the album. That said, I certainly didn't expect and am very grateful for this #1. I've really enjoyed just doing my thing this season, taking on advice when and however I can best utilise it, and I've had fun writing and been proud of everything this season so far. Interesting observation, looking at my history the fourth round seems to be my typical peak. Spoiler: The fifth isn't as kind to me. I have a couple of ideas I want to explore on this album so looking forward to the next challenge and hoping I can make something work without forcing it. I was wanting to delve into some more experimental territory during the midseason anyway, and I think for me, at least at this point in time, the best way for me to experiment would be to strip back some of the more grandiose language and themes, and tackle something a little more simplistic. Scrapped! But tbh this might just be one of your best choruses imo, I loved the way everything was set up and felt like genuine thoughts but was represented so poetically and beautifully!
