it must be cause Ariana is coming off a long lasting no. 1 hit which has been top 5 for what? 3 months? when was the last time the two artists you mentioned had a #1 with more than one week in the top 5?

Rain on Me was in the top 5 for more than one week girl :dies: I thought u were an Ari stan

ot: 34+35 new peak and Dua holding :clap3:

I am, but it was still frontloaded in the USA, plus it features Ariana? so how would it be an indication of Gaga's power

smart

like cassettes and vinyls it can be a collector's item

It might actually help to put the singles in one area so they get more streams and they can always disperse them to parent albums. A stan playlist tea.

Then we just move back just two Gaga singles prior to Rain On Me to Shallow, which was also a Gaga #1 that had more than one week in the Top 5. :cm:

(Not totally invalidating your point btw, but still. :fan:)

Outside of 50 Cents "In The Club" which was #1 for all of 2003, what real competition did WAP have?

Big jump

but I meant the hot 100 position lol

Hole has a lot of fans but its consumption numbers are low. Even the remix featuring Shania Twain didn't help it much. I like the song so don't take this post as a shade.

The thing with Hole is it has so many versions it’s total numbers are spread out (original, acoustic, remix). Me as a fan didn’t ask for any of them when the original is just good on it’s own

what’s the amazon/pandora number/positions for it?

Hole reentered Country Streaming Songs this week at #20 & dipped 22-23 without a bullet on Country Digital Songs. Those positions aren't too terrible & some Country Airplay #1s never even reach either chart. But I'm surprised they aren't a good bit better. I would think Hole should be closer to T 10 on both.

They’re kinda bad.
like I said, focusing on one version instead of 3 would give that version a higher charting place and more people would check out the song instead of having 3 versions so down any charts

also last performance was months ago  and it seems Kelsea is already planning next single

I mean, Blinding Lights is easily hitting a year in the top 10 at this point, right?

for some reason I never thought about In the club.

I think about I touch myself (maybe that didn't hit #1), like a virgin, dirty diana (but that's because I'm a MJ stan most don't know this song), rude boy, madonna's justify my love and Prince's cream (is the first one I think of)

so i went through the archives of hot 100 #1s and I found a few more:

it wasn't me shaggy

bootylicious dc3

s&m rihanna

baby got back sir mix alot

hot in here nelly

whistle flo rida

freak me silk

bump bump bump b2k

I guess in da club by 50 cent then I'd say sean paul's get busy

blurred lines robin thicke

bump n grind r kelly

slow motion juvenile

goodies ciara

creep TLC

how do you want it Tupac

you're making me high Toni braxton

panda desiigner

honey mariah

3 by Britney

so yeah...

Most of these arent even that vulgar and are double entendres.

S&M

Baby Got Back

Freak Me

You're Makin Me High

Are probably the only ones that are as explicit and blunt as they come...especially the Silk track

Ok i'm not sure what true point are you trying to make. My original point is that WAP is the most vulgar #1...are any of the above more vulgar???

not that sales market is sizable nowadays, but doja's sales positions starting to catch up with the streams. Streets #27 iTunes rn. Good Days still hovering down at #94.

Ariana Grande, Seven Rings (3)

Adele, Hello (7)

Taylor, Blank Space (7)

New queen Olivia seems set to join them.
