Posted November 30, 2020 Share Posted November 30, 2020 Well I honestly had nothing prepared because ATRL thought it was a good idea to start this before the month of November even ended so... yeah. Idk I always start my year end list here talking about how awful the year was but I don't think any year has come as close to being as awful as this year was cause... even from before Miss CoCo V had her global crossover I was really going through it, and she just made things exponentially worse. Well, whatever. It is what it is. I will be starting this whole thing on December 4th since it'll give me time to come through with lists, have stuff to say and all of that. Maliibu Miitch "Gucci" directed by Tash Tung Awesome fits, editing and lighting, and most importantly Bree shines as the star she is, even when holding a green screen for Maliibu to appear in. #19. Sega Bodega "Salv Goes to Hollywood" directed by Jade Jackman Love the edgy 90s alt-rock/nu metal aesthetic of the video. Like something that would get played on MTV at 3AM. #18. Cardi B feat. Megan Thee Stallion "WAP" directed by Colin Tilley I mean DUH. It's instantly iconic for a reason. It feels very 2011 to me for some reason. #17. Beyoncé, Saint Jhn & Wizkid feat. Blue Ivy Carter "Salv Goes to Hollywood" directed by Beyoncé & Jenn Nkiru I still haven't seen the Black Is King movie. Sorry! My bad! That said this video is so beautiful, really puts a smile on my face. #16. Fiona Apple "Shameika" directed by Matthias Brown A lot of effort was put into this video, and it clearly shows. Also love how they included Shameika's voice in the beginning! #15. Four Tet feat. Ellie Goulding "Baby" directed by Joanna Nordahl Love the landscapes shown throughout the video and the way it's edited and shot makes everything flow seamlessly. Also the ending is cute. #14. ROSALÍA "Juro que" directed by Tanu Muino I feel like 2020 was a slow year for Rosalía (for whom it wasn't lol) but there still were a few brilliant videos she released, this being the best of them. Love the movie references too. #13. Klô Pelgag "Rémora" directed by Laurence Morais I'm not really sure what is going on but it's probably the most freaked out I've been watching a music video released this year. #12. Tkay Maidza "24k" directed by Nicholas Muecke The editing in this video is dizzying but part of what makes it so good, also Tkay has so much charisma and the fun she's having in the video is so contagious. #11. Jessy Lanza "Lick in Heaven" directed by Winston Case Just a really lovely, positive vibe that comes from this video, the early morning public television thing suits the song.
