Slaying streaming!!

Also Really amazing at how well Beyonce does on streaming. It's unreal. Like...she started late 90's. She's really transitioned so well into the streaming era DESPITE her sabotage. I can only imagine what would happen if she cared for streaming.

These numbers seem small. Spotify has at least 100 million users. Can you only follow if you pay? That would knock it down to 50 million paid. I suppose but for a top ten, it seems low for some artists.

Because following is not essential on Spotify like it is with social media platforms like twitter, instagram which rely on a newsfeed.

4 are urban: Rihanna, Beyonce, Drake & Eminem

1 is electro: David ghetto

2 are rock: Coldplay & Maroon 5.

2 are teen idols: Justin Bieber & One Direction

1 is British pop: Ed Sheehan

No country music

How is Urban not dominanting.?

Plus, JB's music has always had an urban swag to it. He was produced by Usher after all.

How is the 5th pit of hell is Maroon 5 rock? :ahh::ahh::ahh::ahh:

Pop: Justin Bieber, One Direction, Ed Sheeran, Maroon 5

So, Urban and Pop are neck to neck. And Rihanna is pretty pop too, so :rip:

Urban is only dominant in North America... Europe, Australia and Asia don't use THAT.

MAROON 5 is from the rock world. They did sellout but they are definitely a rock band.

Even if pop and urban are neck and neck, it proves that urban dominates when u see that urban is clearly over represented compare to the amount of artist that are urban in the world.

Urban might represent barely 10% of musical act in the biz (I clearly don't know the exact number); but represent 50% of the most followed on spotifies. That says it all. Streaming clearly benefit urban artists the most.

Marron 5 hasn't released a rock song since "It Won't Be Soon Before Long" was released :rip: So, yeah, they're not rock. Rihanna nor Beyonce are urban in full, as you could say Kendrick Lamar, or J Cole are. So, the Pop genre (which they do, even Drake does pop) is pretty dominant. And there are LOTS of Urban artists in the world... Not 10% what is that figure even? :toofunny2:

This is actually amazing and deserves more recognition.

Especially since the music scene is very male dominated currently. Rihanna reign wont let up :clap3:
