It being a bomb was a narritive started by a certain base. It peaked top 5, spent 10 weeks charting, went top 10 on HAC and outside top 10 on POP, and now has sold over 1m units US. For Gaga's standards a definite underperformance, vs others who'd be having their biggest smashes in years with those stats. But i'd say that's just about a hit looking at the three classifiers.

Exactly. The song didn’t smash (as if everything Gaga is going to release has to smash  ) but it did fine.

But, Cardigan was already Gold eligible in under 2 weeks, it’ll be Platinum eligible 2-3 months after release compared to 6 for SL   Also, it was released alongside an entire album containing 15 other tracks... what’s Stupid Love’s excuse?
