This is bullshi***. They always underestimate Katy and inflate other pop girls so much.

Only 49k outside US?

#2 Australia

#4 New Zealand

#5 UK

#5 Canada

#5 Spain

#10 Italy

And Top 20 in most markets including France and Germany.

Yet Taylor who had lower chart positions on almost every country that week sold 50k+ overseas?

Katy numbers still low, but they doing the most just to drag her

Congrats Taylor anyways, she's slaying period.

I mean they don’t count several of Taylor’s biggest markets in Asia (which are literally recognized by IFPI and would bring her way more units), so the same thing applies to her. Plus, she was still ahead of Katy in quite a few markets, the sum of those must’ve just added up to give her around the same/slightly more numbers as Smile did outside US.

Katy’s numbers are actually higher than I expected tho tbh, but it’s annoying that she couldn’t do 1k more to crack 100k and place at #5 :deadbanana: The basement dweller who runs Mediatraffic and has a shady history could’ve given that to her :giraffe:

They been dragging Katy since her peak days, i remember when she had all those #1 singles in 2011 and TD was selling like  20k in US and their numbers WW were like 25k. While other pop girls were flopping left and right with their songs and they sold the same or more than TD according to them.

Their Smile debut numbers are s**. She sold close to 10k in Uk only. Are her numbers good? No. But they are shady trying to make fun of her with the 99k number.

UK is the biggest market among these and Katy Perry only did 8000 + there. The other markets are much smaller than UK. Katy sold slightly above 1000 in Italy only. Her first week's pure sales in Japan is only 1072, too. What do you think how many copies she could sell outside the U.S.A.?:gaycat2:

Smile didn't even outstream folklore on its first day (8/28) on Global Spotify. :rip: The same most likely happened to other streaming platforms like Global Apple Music and Amazon Music too.

It's no surprise Smile's first week streaming equivalents could be lower than folklore's sixth week's numbers. Pure sales are basically non-existent in Europe too.
