Quote

First, Billboard has applied a formula adjustment, as is regularly administered, to the Hot 100 (and those charts cited) to rebalance the ratio among sales, airplay and streaming, accounting for changes in music consumption patterns, i.e., increases in streaming and decreases in sales.

Plus, as noted in more detail in a separate announcement, influential Pandora streaming data is added to the Hot 100's data pool, as well as to those of the other aforementioned charts.

John Mayer deserved to be atop.

I hate streaming mixed with album sales, John Mayer released 4 songs and sold more albums than anyone else, even with no physical release. But artists with bigger hits will keep dominating the B200 chart. Disgusting.

I have a feeling BB might change the formula this week, since they are changing the format album charts from sales to consumption. This seems like an appropriate time to try and at reign in streaming's runaway power on the Hot 100. Even with a big change though, we will probably be back to the same proportion of metrics at the end of 2017 as we had last week.

King Abel slaying those weeks atop the Billboard 200. Definitely one of my favorite albums released in 2016. :alexz:

If DWK gets 1 more week at #1 on Radio Songs (which would make 8 weeks), it ties OMN for M5's longest-running radio #1 per Gary
