You got it! This season's concept is all about rewriting hit songs, the first one will be Fireflies by Owl City!!

As a writer, there is always a quality one wishes they could project into every song of theirs.
  A quality that could show people who they are by just reading their words.

Every time you’re adventuring to try to find new singers, new authors, new actors;

new artists, your mind always looks for something that sticks out,

for that very thing that will become the reason people will recognize them.

Which is their essence.

 

For this round, we want you to show everyone in this competition what you can bring,

show everyone who you are, bring your essence to your song.

We want to get a glimpse of what lies within your mind, to get to see who you are as a writer.

 

You can write about anything you want.

You can express your emotions towards anything, project your ideals on your song, you can talk about who you are,

you can tell us about your favorite things on Earth, you can show us your comedic side. 

There’s an infinity of possibilities on how you can approach this round. It’s up to you.

 

We only ask for one thing: Let this be an introductory piece of who you are as a writer. 

 

You will have until Friday, August 28th to submit your entry for this first challenge.
