One of the reasons why Europe is the most important continent to break is because it obviously has the most countries and every country has its own music that is more popular than English speaking one. 

 

US listens to US artists, UK listens to US and UK artists, European countries listen to music of their country, countries around them, LA music, and English speaking music. That's why it's hard to break.

A Japan list would be virtually nonexistant because It’s notoriously difficult to chart high in Japan as a foreign artist.  If I had to guess, maybe Mariah or Celine is the only one with a number one.
