Very impressive

Yes, especially for Rain On Me. It's the highest ranking western/overseas song on the chart this week.

Her, Taylor and maybe Avril are the only western pop stars who can still pull off these numbers in Japan :jonny:

Impressive for ROM and such a rate feat for an international song :clap3:

For Chromatica as well, but she's always done well there. They have taste.

Ariana's still pretty big though she's more of a streaming artist than a pure album seller these days. For a western pop girl, Billie Eilish is I'd say the current "it girl" in Japan as "bad guy" was huge and her album was a big success for a foreign artist recently in the streaming age.

She used to be huge during the DW era. Her Japan exclusive greatest hits album smashed there too. It definitely slowed down after that though, Sweetener and thank u, next unfortunately didn't fare as well as their predecessors. The latter only peaked at #12. Nonetheless, I think she's still quite successful for pop girl standards.

That’s an extremely impressive debut for ROM  :clap3:

Strong debut for Chromatica as well :clap3:The album could do really well with some promo.

Also I wish they would release albums there a few days later for a full tracking week dd.

Japan's like the only country in the world that refused to transition to the Friday release schedule :deadbanana2: I never understand why western acts don't release albums on Mondays/Tuesdays but I'm guessing the album would chart on imports anyway.

MTE! It’s super annoying :dies: She could’ve easily went #1 if the competition was weak.

ARTPOP’s release was a mess cause it came out days earlier there, but at least it went #1. :eli:

when she visited in 2016 she had a whole festival dedicated to her :deadbanana4:  I think it’s because she didn’t do any japanese promo for either albums, while she promoted in japan for both my everything and dw
