Paramore sold 6.1m of "crushcrushcrush" in 2010?

Featured Replies

According to IFPI's 2011 Digital Music Report, crushx3 was the 10th best selling digital single of 2010, selling 6.1m copies worldwide.

Look at page 13, here: https://www.musikindustrie.de/fileadmin/bvmi/upload/06_Publikationen/DMR/ifpi_digital-music-report-2011.pdf

This has to be a mistake though, as the song's certifications are:

Region Certification Certified units/sales
United States (RIAA)[18] Platinum 1,000,000double-dagger

*sales figures based on certification alone
^shipments figures based on certification alone

(Only 1m certified units, which were reported in 2016)

Charts:

Chart (2007–08) Peak

Brazil (Brasil Hot 100 Airplay)[10] 68
Canada Rock (Billboard)[11] 43
Finland (Suomen virallinen lista)[12] 4
New Zealand (Recorded Music NZ)[13] 32
UK Singles (Official Charts Company)[14] 61
US Billboard Hot 100[15] 54
US Alternative Songs (Billboard)[16] 4

Excluding airplay or genre-specific charts:

New Zealand (Recorded Music NZ)[13] 32
UK Singles (Official Charts Company)[14] 61

There's no way a song that charted in 4 countries and missed the top 40 in half of them sold that much :rip:

I don’t know if it’s real but I’ll choose to believe it is. A classic :cm:

Yeah, I stan Paramore and this song and find that VERY hard to believe but I’ll enjoy this temporary mistake for a minute :jamming:
