They ban words "Covid-19" "coronavirus" in the country, but seriously I think they have a lot of cases there considering they share same border with Iran :rip:

I thought so too. Literally there isn't any place in the world safe from COVID-19. It's a shame they couldn't be more transparent about it.

South Africa becomes the fifth country to cross 500K, and if it continues at its current rate it will cross a million in a month and a half.

Wtf is this :deadbanana2:

It's ****ing over.

We will hit 100,000 come 4pm today. Our 3-day average is at around 4,200+ cases per day. Same time last month, we had below 40,000 cases. :weeps:

Are they making sure the reported numbers form an aesthetic? :deadbanana2:

yesterday I was talking with my mom who's in China, and she said lots of people not wearing masks

in the city and thinking they are probably over it. But then we still have cases popping up here and there.

Even China took the almost inhuman, draconian containment measures and declared 0 new cases a few months

ago, they are still not over it. No country is safe from this. Just one tiny loosen up can have disastrous effects

Is she in a major city?

It's interesting because as you said, China had been having many cases over the last few days, in the 100s.

Even the smallest carelessness can cause a major wave. I think even in AU it was like 2 teens who triggered a wave :rip:

Considering chinas population we can’t say they have been anything but a success tbh.  Even if you think they drastically fudged they numbers.  America fudged the numbers and we’re doing horrible.  But we don’t live in a more collective society.  We live in a rugged individualistic society

Yes she's in Canton, the 3rd biggest city in China.  At least the schools and commercial industries

reopens and so far no big cluster forming....yet.....

My mom told me that they really couldn't afford another 3 months shut-down. The economy is really

bad. But I should worry about myself since I'm in one of the worst-hit state in the U.S :doc:

My bad, I didn't realised they reported the number of cases as they go instead of once daily.

We're just doing fine here in Victoria :biblio: 671 new cases and 7 deaths. :(

Stage 4 restrictions, and an upgrade from State of Emergency to State of Disaster.

Curfew has been put in place, no longer allowed out of the home between 8pm - 5am.

Entire industries of work shut down.

Only allowed within 5 km of your home for anything.

One person allowed to shop per household per day.

Fines upgraded from $1,652 to $10,000 (discretion at hands of police due to State of Disaster).

Recreational activity is no longer allowed.

All schools are back at home learning - including VCE students (poor kids, I would hate to have to do my VCE and get my ATAR throughout all this).

And to think that all of this (in Victoria) sprang because of people having sex in a hotel :rip:
