I think Disney is straying away from any comedy with this remake and making it more serious, as they've cut the songs too.

Actually their making it more faithful to the original Chinese story of Mulan

There are 8 more I think

  1. 101 dalmatians which focuses on cruella
  2. quasimodo  /notre dame thing
  3. snow white
  4. mermaid
  5. peter pan
  6. lady and the tramp
  7. pinocchio
  8. that hawaiian demon dog thing

People are mad that they cut a comic relief talking dragon and some song-and-Dance numbers from a female-led war story :lmao:

What is the point of having a legacy if it’s forgotten and you don’t reintroduce it to a new generation? :rip:

If they want to reintroduce their legacy to a new generation, they should get current pop stars to cover some of the songs and release them as singles, and re-release the original movie in cinemas (like they used to do back in the day). As much as I loved Aladdin, most of these remakes are nothing but quick cash grabs with tons of cgi that won't age well.

Why not, ye kno, make something original that’s just as good so we don’t have to rehash?

They already had the perfect Cruella with Glen Close.

OT: I’m not sure how to feel about this. I understand them wanting to do something closer to the Chinese story that’s more serious but I loved the original so much so I will be sad to see characters gone and no music. Also as someone who watches a lot of Asian shows, it’s very weird seeing a live action film set in ancient China where everyone is speaking English.

I'm actually pretty impressed by this teaser, as long as Reflections is in this I'm fine with all the other musical numbers being cut.

Mulan slicing her hair off with a sword would look awkward in live action too I guess :rip:

Ok those rumors about the witch were false. Thank God :weeps:

Please don't suck :'( The teaser wasn't very good tbh but it's just a teaser

EDIT: They should have added Reflection to the background music for that nostalgia and emotional effect

they did ... its in the beginning ...
