Military service is voluntary in my country... and thank heavens for that, because I'd NEVER consider doing it as I believe the army of a peaceful country should only be made up of people with an actual interest in serving it. Although some nuthead right-wing politicians want to bring it back, it ain't gonna happen. How about you?

It's mandatory here so I will after I graduate high school. Can't wait to be a clerk for 3 years

no but almost got talked into doing so. They are soooo  aggressive for high school recruits

I did jrotc in high school and was going to do rotc in college but found out if you do it for more than 2 years you are forced in the army. I was going to go to West Point like my parents but I’m scare of water and can’t swim

No, but if it was compulsory I wouldn’t go out of my way to avoid it. Then again, I’m on psychiatric medications so I’d probably be rejected anyway :rip:

Although for a short time I thought about joining, since there was this phase were I was obsessed with military shows/games/history etc. 

 

Now I would never join, unless, and that’s a big maybe, my country would somehow get attacked and there would be another World War.
