talent Posted August 11, 2019 Author Share Posted August 11, 2019 CRITIQUES: TALENT Hide contents beatinglikeadrum // Anja Rubik: it's a nice shot but it's nothing special. i understand the sepia filter but i feel like it just makes the shot just a LITTLE too one note. the brown cow look miss anja has on helps a bit but for the most part i don't find the shot too interesting. i can't really find any major faults but it's just very meh. Invisibility // Ayumi Hamasaki: i adore this. the messy luxury is so interesting like some kind of beverly hills i spy book. there's a really gorgeous movement throughout the picture from the chandelier to the servant to ayumi and then down to her legs that i love looking at over and over. great shot. Psycho // Cara Delevingne: this is interesting. i love the lack of eyebrows, the intense look on their faces, and their shiny, glowing skin contrasted to the rest of their surroundings. at first i really liked it and still do, but the more shots i saw the more i felt it falls behind a bit. it's tough, i really like the shot but this was a super strong round. Not Like The Movies // Duckie Thot: gorgeous. reminds me of your first shot but is different enough to still keep me interested. really, really enjoy the fluid movement throughout the frame and the fisheye lens is genius. such a great, fantastical shot that feels to me kinda bjork-esque which is a lovely aesthetic. Overprotected // Florence Welch: it's not bad, but it just pales in comparison to the other shots. in a weaker bunch, i would like this shot more, but as is its just far too much of a safe, unoffensive but low shooting shot. i love the colour and styling and the angular posing, but its not enough. rooby.booby // Gigi Hadid: super cool shot. love the high intensity/contrast. helps sell the picture's "all eyes on me" story which i think is very cool. love the minimal set, her and the co star are very well styled, and she is serving attitude and pose. love! Noah // Jennifer Lawrence: this is nice, soft, gorgeous. reminds me a lot of your shot from last season of jen just standing in a field. i kinda like the stare she's giving the camera as if it's interrupting a tender moment. the styling is a lil strange and the man doesnt add much to the photo though. Nurr // Jolin Tsai: i like this shot, but im left wanting more. i like the styling, i think both of them are serving face, but it feels a little bare bones... i don't like the set much at all, it kinda takes me out of the fantasy. Thanatos // Kate Moss: first off, that man's face is creepin the hell out of me i.... otherwise, the shot is pretty interesting. it tells a nice story. it's fairly lush as well and i like several elements, but i wish it wow'd me a little more. KatyCatPH // Katy Perry: this is interesting, if a little awkward? unfortunately the worse of the two twin shots. its super intense and i love the colours and the two of them are killing it in face and styling. katy's stance is a tad odd and is probably what is making me think its a bit awkward. love the idea but it doesnt have perfect execution which is starting to become vital. PinkBox // Madonna: love this, very cool and surreal. the better of the two twin shots. a very vibrant shot, great colour and contrast, cool styling, great vibe. love the tacky ironing board cover here, adds another interesting colour and pattern to break up the blue a little. Sabbath // Magdalena Frackowiak: very cool shot to stare at. such interesting shapes and angles and patterns that are pleasing and fun to stare at. gets interesting and weird the more details you pick out with the blood on the walls and mannequin leg and skull on the left. great image to pick apart and look over several times. EriKills // Rihanna: great immediate reaction, fun shot. love the fully clothed rih over the naked kate, has a cool dynamic. other than that... somewhat basic compared to some of the more interesting shots. Buljangnan // Soo Joo Park: oh bitch, this is cool. the hair in the shot is spectacular. the whole shot has a ghostly vibe and the strands of hair flying next to them really add to it. in this case, the simplicity helps put the hair into focus which is really the star of the shot. the pop of red on the other model adds something interesting to the shot too.
