Game of Thrones Emmy record disagrees. Though the last season was trash the entire rest of the series was not.

Just a reminder:

-Game of Thrones has acquired a total of 128 Emmy nominations, the most of any primetime scripted series in Emmys history.

-It is the most-awarded primetime scripted series with a total of 38 wins

-It set the record of the most watched television trailer for season 8 with 78 million views in 24 hours beating its own record.

-It became the most tweeted about primetime show ever.

-It set the world record of being broadcasted in 173 countries at the same time,

Lets not talk about all the power it has in comparison to all other HBO shows combined.

When a coffee cup can get more attention then most shows get in their entire existence.

GOT has the far higher peak but The Simpsons (30 years now) and the Scooby Doo franchise (50 years) will still continue to be relevant in the decades to come. :alexz2:

Friends, Seinfeld, MASH, Cheers, Frasier, The Sopranos, The Cosby Show, Big Bang Theory, Breaking Bad, GOT.

Some of the biggest TV shows in a nutshell.

HIMYM, Two And A Half Men, Three's Company, Grey's Anatomy, Modern Family, Supernatural, Mad Men, and The Jeffersons would make up some Tier 2 successful shows.

The Office, That 70s Show, New Girl, The Middle, Empire, Glee, Scandal, The Wire, OITNB, Suits, 30 Rock, Parks & Recreation, Weeds, Californication, House of Cards, Veep, White Collar, HTGAWM, etc. are tiers 3 & 4.

I see big things in the future for Killing Eve, Ozark, Handmaid's Tale, Luther, White Gold, Homeland, Bojack Horseman, The Walking Dead, and This Is Us if they can continue the quality.

Refer to my original comment:

"GOT isn’t even the biggest show of this century."

The question of if there will ever be a show as big as GOT very much implies its at least the biggest cultural television moment of the century. It's not though. There have been bigger television phenomenons this century than GOT. That's all.

That's why every single country then went on to create its own Idol show after the success of American Idol? :toofunny3:

According to IMDB 'Game of Thrones' is the greatest TV Show of the Century with both popularity and ratings followed by Breaking Bad.

IMDB: Greatest TV shows of the 21st Century

Idol brought us Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood

As miserable as it is, Idol still gets more seasons and has paved the way for X factor, The voice

Kelly and Carrie are extremely local, Kelly was only global during Breakaway.

American Idol has never produced a truly global artist because it’s a local show.

American Idol was just a rip off of our British Pop Idol, we started it.

Simon was even a judge on it and the logo design is the same :deadbanana:

And as I said every country having their own Idol/X Factor does not help your case, the format Idol is global but American Idol itself is not.

Game of Thrones is much bigger GLOBALLY.
