Did Gaga have the best career recovery campaign ever in pop?

2013: Twitter meltdowns, mixed acclaim for ARTPOP upon release, etc.

early 2014: Paint vomit controversy, DWUW snl/video controversy. ARTPOP era has stalled and Gaga has gone sort of MIA. GP seems generally uninterested at this point. When you typed in "is Gaga..." the first thing that would pop up was "dead". :skull: The GP was either over her or forgot about her at this point.

Flash forward to 2019 and she's had an acclaimed jazz album that brought in the older GP, an acting role that brought AHS/TV show stans in, a multitude of viral performances that woke the GP up to her talent, a Facebook video with over 100m views of her giving to charity during the Joanne era, Superbowl, and now, a global smash film that gave her a #1 single 10 years into her career.

Did Gaga have the greatest career recovery campaign in pop culture?

Absolutely. But even her "downfall" was extremely entertaining and iconic.

She's just that bitch.

Love Gaga, but I think this belongs to Mariah. She was actually dropped from her label. :deadbanana4:

It was as entertaining as it was for a variety of fanbases because they knew how extreme it was for someone as talented as Gaga to not be acknowledged in the public eye the way she deserved to be.

ARTPOP era really was a time though :deadbanana2: I've really stuck by her messiness all these years and now she's on top again  :jonny2:

Definitely not. Let's wait until her next album. Cheek to Cheek, Joanne, A Star Is Born, her Superbowl performance, her Grammy wins, multiple Oscar performances, Oscar win, Golden Globe wins, BAFTA win, massive acclaim, record sales, global hits, and industry respect for the past 5 years don't count :sorry:

You're right. None of those accomplishments hold value until LG6 somehow validates it all. :sorry:
