The all-time record for the most number of Shazams in 24 hours has been shattered.

Florence + The Machine’s performance of Jenny of Oldstones appeared over the end credits in the latest episode of HBO’s Game Of Thrones, which aired Sunday (April 21).

The episode, the second of the show’s eighth and final season, was entitled A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.

It saw character Podrick sing Jenny of Oldstones to Brienne, Tyrion, Davos and Tormund during a drinking session ahead of their battle against the White Walkers.

Florence Welch’s vocal interpretation then appeared over the show’s end credits.

Shazam has confirmed to MBW that Welch’s track was ‘Shazamed’ approximately 300,000 times worldwide during a 24 hour period following its appearance in the show.

That was enough to beat the previous all-time record, set by Adele’s Hello in October 2015, which attracted 200,000 ‘Shazams’ in its opening 24 hours.

An important distinction between those two record-breakers: Hello was Shazamed by its audience after appearing as a huge new single on the radio, music streaming services etc., but Jenny of Oldstones was just a TV sync, with little if no other media support.
