these imports were most likely albums that werent produced in japan, Mariah had all her albums produced and promoted in Japan. Besides, how do we know how many of these imports are albums by her?

False, stevyy is correct in saying that the cost of imported CDs is significantly less than domestically produced CDs. They used to release lists of the most imported albums in the 00s. For example, in 2005 Mariah's The Emancipation of Mimi sold 259,275 copies, of those were 78,609 imported copies (the album was the 8th most imported that year). Oricon only started including imports into their sales charts in December 2003. Some albums would have well over 50% of their total sales coming from imports. This is part of the reason why record labels include bonus tracks, DVDs, different covers, etc. for the Japanese market - it's an incentive to buy the more expensive Japanese press over the cheaper imported one.

the beatles are so  low

let it be was seventh biggest album of 70's and the number one album. Im sure that and Sgt.Pepper are million sellers :'(

The standards for sales then were different though. So considering the timeline, their sales managing to hold up in a list full of artists who debuted in better times for music sales is still an admirable feat :clap3:

No? Her debut sold 500k, Bday sold 400k and IASF sold 250k. She was huge in Asia for her first 3 pop eras.

Oh, I never denied that at all. I myself agree that she was very popular in Asia during the 2000s, especially during the IASF era. 'Halo' is her most well-known song in Asia. After that, she declined in popularity and is now more of a celebrity name.
