Did GMAYL peak impressively?

I would say amazingly s0, I am not a madonna stan by any means, I know her 30 greatest hits by heart but I've never really been able to get into a full album

That being said, having her single debut at #13 then peak at #10, 28 years after your first top 10 hit in 1984 is remarkably impressive.

Especially when every album in between managed to chart a hit as such.

I think the Queen of Pop is due some more respect.

On top of that while BIM only peaked at #84 in 2015, It still has nearly 300 million views, a single that came out more than 30 years into her career in the STREAMING era. I didn't even have to tell my friends about the song, they had already added it to the party playlist back when it came out and they aren't even pop culture gay people.

I did enjoy it at that time. I hope she finds success with her upcoming lead

And you should definitely check out Ray of Light, Music and American Life

she had the superbowl to back the peak up

and BIM was highly covered cause of the a-listers she has in its video

but sure, it's still impressive, queen of pop etc

also despite the song being a bubblegum bop, it's embarrassing to be her leadd

No. #10 even with Super Bowl support isn’t all that impressive.

Well, she did have the Superbowl.

Nevertheless having 28 consecutive years of Top 10 hits is insanely impressive and Madonna is the only women to have achieved it, none of our faves will likely achieve that.

Yeah, if you look at her discography she had a Top 10 hit in 6/10 years in the 80s, 7/10 years in the 90s and 4/10 years in the 2000s spread out over the decade.

But that's not consecutive

Okay she didn't have a Top 10 in every single year, what I meant with consecutive is that in those 28 years she's never had a long dry spell.

Her worst single ever and the beginning of the end, IMO. I cringe every time I think of it.

Not at all considering it was backed up by the SB. Also, this travesty of a song is one of her worst - only perpetuating and cementing her current status of a shameless trend-hopper and opportunist of “hot” artists.

The song is a bop, it deserved its slot. But yes, it’s still impressive.

Of course it is impressive.

BIM only got views because of the buzz created by the 70 cameos though

It was a forced hit. They had a deal with Clear Channel for their pop stations to play the song every hour for 2 weeks, plus she had the SB promo to back it up. After those 2 weeks, the song quickly disappeared and became forgotten. It probably would have stuck around longer if it were actually a good song.

Well, the song and video were too attached to the SB to survive imo :skull:
