Then look at the singles charts. Those kind of people don't consume albums only quick singles :nicole2:

Let's not act as if people didn't buy albums in droves in the 90s and early 00s because of only one big hit. See Titanic and Bodyguard soundtracks :johnald:

So, A Star Is Born (Soundtrack) sold 1,9m PURE SALES in 2018 but Mediatraffic has its SPS at 2,2m only? What a clown. :rip:

I was wondering why it’s only pure sales :rip:

Sales are kinda dead if these are global fugures.

Less than a million copies for the 10th album.

Congrats on ASIB and Beautiful Trauma.

Mediatraffic is a joke but IFPI reports shipments not sales. ASIB shipped 1.9m in 2018 but it might still be selling this week copies that were shipped last year.

Oh, yeah I forgot that, thank you. But surely ASIB sold most of its shipments because since Interscope didn't expect the soundtrack to do that well they under shipped it, the soundtrack was sold out multiple times in 2018...

I'm a bit pressed that Exo didn't make the list but BTS came through at least with one of their worst releases at that :'(

But at the same time the stores around the world won't keep on ordering ASIB copies while their 2018 shipments are collecting dust...

Kamikaze being the biggest hip hop album of 2018 is not realistic at all  :skull:

This is why we need the SPS list (and back in 2015 I didn't like the idea of SPS being included in albums but there's no choice right now)

I think they should do both pure sales and SPS.

SPS is definitely the best way to determine the biggest album in 2019 because as you said Kamikaze is NOT bigger than Scorpion :skull: But I'd still like to see the worldwide pure sales/shipments as tragic as they may be.
