Michael Jackson Collapsing on AC Radio - UPDATED

Recommended Posts

Michael Jackson's airplay has been dramatically collapsing this week on US Adult Contemporary radio. Here are the most played artists on that format in the last 7 days. Will the fall stop at some point? How low is he going to go?

No photo description available.

UPDATE:

The collapse of MJ continues. He is about to fall off the Top10 and behind Katy Perry. That leaves Madonna as the only legacy act in the Top10.

No photo description available.

UPDATE:

MJ not in the Top10 anymore, Katy Perry enters!

Meh. He’s still a legend and radio will play him again once this discourse fades away. Plus, the 10 year anniversary of his death is in 3 months and believe me, he will skyrocket back onto the airwaves and charts again.

exactly. the public probably won't care about this once his death anniversary happens. even after that people will probably stop caring

MJ is a legend and no amount of negative radio updates will change it… and for that reason, this probably won't even do much

(that being said, Adele :jonny5:)

omfg, in NYC our biggest station is an AC station (lite fm)… the boomers would probably harass and threaten them with a barrage of phone calls if they stopped spinning MJ. same for our big R&B station (WBLS) :skull:

If he drops out of the Top10 of most played artists on Adult Contemporary radio, Madonna will be the only legacy act left in the Top10, male or female, solo or group.

So lame. He is dead for almost 10 years + he can't defend himself. This whole situation is just sad imo

MTE, he was banned on Norway radio for like one day then they reversed it after the backlash and said they'll separate the "art from the artist". I'm sure the same will happen in other countries.

People are delusional if they really think his legacy will be completely wiped away like they want.
