I think that maybe the people who use Spotify in Europe are more likely to be pop fans because Spotify is so big in Europe, whereas in the US it's more for people who listen to urban music. So perhaps the public that likes pop music uses streaming more than in the US. This could also explain Shallow's slayage on Scandinavian spotify where streams are highest in the world if you correct for population size, e.g. the 25M streams Shallow has in Sweden would equal over 800M in the US, or more than God's Plan and I Like It combined.
