The Complicated Issue of Lady Gaga’s Apology

It's really 'fishy' that she, a victim of sexual assault, sought R. Kelly knowing it all and planned that kind of controversy with the music video. ''Dark times'' and ''twisted thinking'' or not. But that's Gaga y'all, she's kinda crazy.

Like she said, she was angry and hadn’t faced her own trauma yet.  She wanted to do something defiant and provocative bc she didn’t know how to process it in a healthy way.  All of that bottled up inside her obviously made her have some ****ed up thinking.

The good old OGH that is the OP is ignoring the actual victims and is focusing on Gaga. How unsurprising and disgusting. Get over it, Gaga is winning.

I understand that. I don't think her apologize was insincere but i get why people may think otherwise. Like, she wasn't ''processing things'' right but she wasn't plain crazy, she knew really well what she wanted to achieve and was praising the collab a year later 🤔

This is the darkest corner of this whole celebrity circus. That kind of media/public behaviour could lowkey lead to revictimization on the victims. Deplorable.

I agree, this would be a great way to continue showing her support.  Maybe even have the BTW Foundation partner with a few Chicago-based centers for sexual assault survivors.  :clap3:

The Born This Way foundation does these kind of things tho. Last publicized thing from Chicago:

Funding for Common Threads would support our ability to deepen the impact we have on children, families, schools and community organizations in our current service markets. We would like to expand the depth of programming we are able to offer for each of our schools and community partners with hands-on cooking classes, grocery stores and professional development for teachers, school nurses, and social workers to build a school and community culture that values health and wellness and prioritizes nutrition as a means for empowering children to succeed in and outside of the classroom.

https://bornthisway.foundation/channel-kindness-tour/

But also:

Funds provided to Advocates for Youth will help advance programs that uplift young people to create social and political change. Advocates for Youth provides youth activists from marginalized communities with networking opportunities, in person and virtual training, and technical assistance, creating a pipeline of diverse young leaders who champion program strategies that improve youth sexual health. From fighting gender-based violence on college campuses to increasing awareness about safe abortion services to expanding access to contraception to advocating against discriminatory immigration and anti-LGBTQ laws, Advocates’ youth leaders are leveraging their voices to make a difference in young people’s lives.

This kind of information is all out there if people are willing to listen and educate themselves. I think she feels very guilty for what has happened which is probably why ever since she has been trying to make amends with the sexual assault stuff, not for herself but also for others.

Everyone is missing the point here. This is a free man who was found innocent in a court of law and hasn't been convicted of anything.

Now that there happens to be a documentary that paints a pretty damning picture of him, you can't just go back and persecute everyone that happened to work with him, praise him, take a pic with him just because they didn't do a whole ass background check on him. There were allegations at the time but he was found innocent, what were these people supposed to do.
