ProjectBro on PulseMusic estimated the Billboard 200 point system used for their all-time charts which will also be used for their top artists decade-end, instead of raw numbers since they switched to SPS mid decade. The point system weighs chart runs based on average chart fluctuation over the years, just like the Hot 100 Decade-End & All-Time.

Also it's so crazy that Adele is #2 while she only released 2 studio albums this decade :jonny5:

Omg so Drake Artist of the Decade confirmed :chick3:

Oh well at least Taylor will be female Artist. I wish there was a way to include streaming on the album charts that didn’t basically make it a second singles charts. They should do what the UK did and not count the top 3 streamed tracks for album charts.

I wonder if BB will really go in that route cause that would be fvcked up..

25 selling 3M+ SPS in a week will be having same points with 21 Savage at no.1 with 70k SPS :dies:

I think that Pure Sales (1st half) plus SPS (2nd half) is more accurate

Do you have the ranking for pure sales 1st half and SPS 2nd half so far?

She's estimated as the #33 Billboard 200 artist of the decade.

Blown Away estimated the #61 album of the decade, Play On estimated #122

This system is not fair. Adele's 2M sales week is equivalent to a #1 album that sold 50k copies.

I know there's no perfect way to measure since they changed methodology, but I think they should just combine sales and SPS together. Otherwise artists with huge debuts (Taylor and Adele) are seriously disadvantaged.

I thought Doo-Wop & Hooligan will make it in the Top 10 considering it spends more than 400 weeks on chart so far :chick3:

If they just added total SPS each artists album accumulated this decade, the results would still be pretty similar.

Drake has also moved the most album equivalents of any artist this decade in US.

I think Billboard will give more weightage to early decade (2010-2015) considering how they view pure sales having "more value":celestial5:

Charting for a bunch of weeks at positions like #130, #152, and #199 means nothing. They earn very little points. It's all about getting weeks #1, top 10, and top 20.

The longest charting album ever, is #31 on the all-time chart despite charting for 931 weeks because it did not spend much of its run in high positions.

Stupid Adele. One more release and she would have won easily.

Would have expected Beyonce to be top 20 at least.

Edit -

4 - 10 weeks in top 10

BEYONCE - 12 weeks in the top 10

Lemonade - 17? weeks in the top 10

Guess not. Could have done better with Lemonade over time if it was up for streaming :skull:

Doing that list wouldn't make sense as that would specifically harm albums released right before the SPS era (2013-2014). It's similar to the Hot 100 being on a weighed formula instead of raw points because that would specifically benefit streaming era where songs have longer chart runs and accumulate more points.

Drake is artist of the decade, it's basically in the bad at this point and it makes sense. No other artist has held the 18-25 demographic like Drake has. Most boys in HS and Uni. love Drake so he also dominates streaming. Adele and Taylor are huge, but they don't have that demographic like Drake does.
