He's not wrong, but these are the things you think to yourself and don't say out loud.

Does T pain even have an legacy himself besides popularizing a trend that allows IG models to become singers? Y’all love to use this “cause she’s dead excuse!?!?!” But there are plenty of dead artist who aren’t as revered as Aaliyah.

Gross. There are plenty of artists who have died and don't even get even a tenth of the credit and respect Aaliyah still gets to this day. Her legacy lasts in her distinctive sound and style that continues to inspire artists now, and inspired many who tried to copy her back when she was still alive.

She wouldn't have been overhyped if she didn't have a legacy. If Jessie J were to die tomorrow nobody would overhype her legacy. This excuse has always been tired.

Not true.

She was never hyped as some legend, but as an up and coming star at the forefront of contemporary RnB. She could of had a long and hugely impactful career

Exactly. Never have a listened to Aaliyah because she died. It's because her music is still great to this day.
