This is your time

Their time is done, it's over

I'm sick and tired hearing about-

Screw 'em!

This is your time

Now go out there and take it

I don't have any ideas myself

I have a vacant mind

15, Perfect Places by Lorde

Gives you a sense of euphoria while breaking your heart.

14, Some Kind Of Love by The Killers

I’m a huge fan of The Killers and even saw them live during their Battle Born tour. However, their 2017 outing was mediocre and disappointing. One of the very few standouts was Some Kind Of Love, a gorgeous and deeply personal track Brandon Flowers wrote about his wife’s depression and perhaps suicide attempt. It contains a sample from Ambient music God, Brian Eno. Brandon sounds vulnerable and beautiful. And the choir of his kids singing to their mother is the most heartbreaking piece The Killers have ever recorded.

13, Star Roving by Slowdive

I never followed Slowdive’s career which is a shame because their catalog is right up my alley. Star Roving was their first release in 22 years and if I’ve ever heard a song that is worth a 22 years wait, it’s definitely this one. Every single thing about the song is magnificent. I can listen to it on repeat for hours.

12, Dark Side Of The Gym by The National

11, Valley by Perfume Genius

10, Automaton by Jamiroquai

Jamiroquai’s first album in 7 years was the best comeback of 2017 (sorry Slowdive) The title track and lead single is a huge and proper Electro/Pop/Soul banger.

9, Bambro Koyo Ganda by Bonobo

The veteran producer mixed African sounds, Folk and Ambient Electronic with vocals from a Moroccan group to create an irresistible song that I personally think will shape the next musical trends as many producers have been dabbling with this mix. And to my displeasure, this song lost the Grammy for Best Dance Recording to LCD Soundsystem. *Pukes*

8, Hang On Me by St Vincent

Annie wins my Best Solo Female Song of the Year with the opening track of her stunning MASSEDUCATION. The track is dark and cinematic and always gives me the sensation of falling in slow motion.

7, Still Waters by SOHN

6, What A Day by London Grammar

An odd choice for people familiar with London Grammar but I’m just powerless to Hannah’s wailing.

5, DNA by Kendrick Lamar

4, Thunder by Imagine Dragons

Probably the most divisive song of 2017. Too bad I don’t care about being cool so this gigantic anthem about proving your haters wrong was constantly on repeat. The bass sounds insane in the car and the outro is pure Pop bliss.

3, All I Can Think About Is You by Coldplay

Coldplay followed their massive and unapologetic Pop album with the low key Kaleidoscope, an EP with all the different hats Coldplay has worn during their 20 years on top. All I Can Think About Is You is reminiscent of their Rush Of Blood and X&Y eras with an irresistible piano riff, an hypnotizing drum beat and a fantastic and big guitar riff during the crescendo, proving that they haven’t lost their Alternative Rock touch.

2, The Strangest Thing by The War On Drugs

Not even the mighty Coldplay could stop The War On Drugs who honestly deserve the entire top5. The Strangest Thing is breathtaking and still gives me chills. One of the best buildups I’ve heard in years.

1, You Don’t Have To Go by The War On Drugs

I respond to songs and albums emotionally. And, oh boy, this has wrecked and left me in million pieces so many times.

favorite 3 of from your top 15. Seems about expected. 2017 had a lot of "comeback" type material.
