What were your fave's first 5 flops and how long after the artists' debut did they happen? I define flops outside of top 25 in US or UK.

Madonna:

1) Hey You (34 years into her career)

2) Miles Away
3) Revolver

4) Girl Gone Wild

5) Masterpiece

1. Low...her 2nd single from her debut album, 2003 :'(

2. The Trouble With Love Is....her 3rd single from debut album, 2003....yet it's weirdly very remembered for a flop?  It was on the Love Actually soundtrack so that helps.

3. All I Ever Wanted...4th single from her 4th album, 2009.  It had no video or promotion so it's not a surprise.

4. Dark Side....3rd single from her 5th album, 2012.  Deserved better tbh.

5. People Like Us....2nd single from her Greatest Hits album, 2013.  Also deserved better, it was a bop.

whew! The lack of floppage!

You missed a lot of singles since 2008 that failed to crack the hot 100 sis and a few before that.

3 of Mariahs earlier singles peaked around top 40 in the UK also.

In the US her first five flop singles were

Crybaby

followed by Never too far

and then Dont stop funkin 4 jamaica

then Never too far/hero medley

and Through the rain.

She then had Boy I need you, Bringin on the Heartbreak, Say something, Ill be lovin u long time, I stay in Love, I want to know what love is, HATE U,

Up out my face, Angels Cry, Oh santa, Triumphant, Almost Home, The art of letting go, Youre Mine, You dont know what to do, infinity, I dont and finally With you.

Several bops that could've had a chance at being a chart hits...

It's really surreal to me that it only peaked at #61 - the impact it has... :clap3:

We love a queen who has singles that transcend low chart peaks.

The fact that all the UK “flops” are still certified silver there :1stplace:

Achilles.

Tim McGraw (#40)

Picture to Burn (#28)

Should’ve Said No (#33)

The Story of Us (#41)

Safe & Sound (#30)

So... three country singles from her debut album (which actually peaked rather high by country standards), her first purely pop single (that was dual-released and was generally paid dust in comparison to the country smash that was released simultaneously), and a soundtrack single. :cm:

And you mentioned more than 5 because why not right? You know Mariah's stats as much as her real fans. Interesting.

I mentioned more than 5 in response to that user claiming a lack of floppage on Mariahs part because the good sis has had almost as many flops as she has had hits.

Yes her real fans need to educate themselves dahling. They just make stuff up.
