No, this is just a 2000s fad that's back and will be gone in the next 4 years :ahh:

Until some couple years much later than

Hiphop has always been popular.

The Dance pop craze yall rage about here was the actual FAD

What do they include as pop though?

Do they include artists like Rihanna with pop, even though songs like Bitch Better Have My Money and Pour It Up are essentially Hip-Hop/Rap?

I’m I the only one who doesn’t see a red line in the graph in the op? I’m technically red-green color blind so it might be just me but l’m looking for confirmation.

The red is a purple shade while the green is lighter.

The reason may be the artists? Most pop stars are acting like they are above everyone while i don't really see that in rappers. And i didn't really hear great pop songs for so long. I have not more than 10 pop songs from this year in my playlist :rip:

I went back to Lorde (Melodrama, Pure Heroine), To Gaga and i love Björk but she is not pop :rip:

Charli xcx has a few nice pop bops but that's it.

Hip hop has been around since the late 70’s-early 80’s and decades later it’s the biggest genre of music. Don’t think that qualifies as a fad.

We love the bitterness though

Well, that's the difference between 'buying' msuic and 'streaming' singles for free.

Even if you pay, streaming thousands of songs for the price of 1 album isn't the same as buying albums of the artists you like.

Counting individual song streams for albums killed the b200 chart.
