For 2019, Game of Thrones is going to sweep.

They are spending a record amount of money at $15 million an episode. They hired back their two best directors Miguel Sapochnik and David Nutter who have both won an Emmy for directing. And I'm 100% sure their cast and all of their creative departments are going hard the last season. Also unlike previous seasons, they have done an excellent job of keeping the show free of spoilers and full of secrets.

The world is not ready!

I hope this is the year "This Is Us" finally gets into Directing/Writing :duca:

Either that or it gets dropped from Series altogether considering the underwhelming nominations it received for it's sophomore season.

I feel like one of this years Drama contenders may be dropped. Either "This Is Us" or "Stranger Things" to make room for new series like "Big Little Lies" and "Homecoming". Hopefully, I'm wrong :dancehall:

Let's hope Zach Woods finally gets a Supporting nom even though like 3 Veep characters will get it.

I'm already most excited for the Limited Series or Movie categories. I don't know if half of these shows will be good but Central Park Five, Maniac, The Romanoffs, Verdon/Fosse, True Detective, Escape at Dannemora, Catch-22, Catherine the Great, The Little Drummer Girl, along with Sharp Objects and potentially Deadwood? A bloodbath.

Also the possibility of Apple entering the race with their new shows is exciting too!

Yeah. But say if Ian McShane and/or Timothy Olyphant get nominated, they would be competing in the same category against say Mahershala Ali, Sam Rockwell, Benicio Del Toro, Jonah Hill, etc. So much talent!

Ian would be in the lead category with them, Timothy would probably be sent to supporting. Facts though it's gonna be stacked at least talent wise. Fun fact though Ian won Individual Achievement in a Drama for his role in Deadwood. Deadwood would also snatch up the technical categories :jonny5:

Trying to think of Dramas that will compete and it's more difficult.

The Americans finished its season. Stranger Things is definitely missing the deadline, Westworld will possibly miss the deadline. THT is possibly missing the deadline as well. That would make 4/7 slots up for grabs, which would basically mean This Is Us is safe for another year.

Lmao at all of them running away from the inevitable onslaught of David Benioff and Dan Weiss :deadbanana2:

Good for Dan Fogelman then :clap3:

I don't think that will happen. Showtime is not good at getting their actors the win. A nomination is pretty much guaranteed though.

IMDb says no.

Forrest Whitaker will have a show next year, he can easily get into Lead Drama Actor off his name alone.

I don't think so. His name didn't help him get nominated for Roots or Empire :michael:
