Ellie, Taylor, Gaga & Dua all climbing in the top ten. :clap3:

Nice to see The Chicks & Miley have decent rises as well, happy to see Kane Brown debut - not generally a fan of his music but I find 'Be Like That' quite catchy. :duca:

Chart Notes

  • With the rise of "Care" moving 4 places from 13-9, beabadoobee earns her second top ten and her first as a lead singer. Her previous entry, "death bed (coffee for your head)," had her vocals in a featured role as the hook singer accompanying rapper Powfu, and with that song, both artists earned their first number one earlier this year.
  • "Mood" leaps back into the top ten after being briefly displaced for one week.
  • Conan Gray earns his second top ten as "Heather" bounds forward five places from 15-10. His previous charting hit, "Maniac," peaked at #2 behind Taylor Swift's "cardigan."

On Deck (To Debut):
ok on your own - mxmtoon featuring Carly Rae Jepsen
bloody valentine - Machine Gun Kelly
Laugh Now, Cry Later - Drake feat. Lil Durk
Gaslighter - The Chicks
Sorry - beabadoobee
money machine - 100 gecs
All Within My Hands (Live) - Metallica and San Francisco Symphony
ily (i love you baby) - Surf Mesa featuring Emilee
Let's Love - David Guetta and Sia
The Light (Remix) - Metronomy and Kero Kero Bonito

Retrospective

                                                                                    Song: Colors

                                                                                   Artist: Halsey

                                                                                  Peak: #2, 2016

This song was Halsey's first to chart in the upper echelons of my personal chart. Since her debut era, Halsey has enjoyed consistent success on this chart, earning top 3 hit after top 3 hit, whether as a lead artist or a featured collaborator, and even earning 3 #1s this year with "Graveyard," "You should be sad," and "Be Kind (with Marshmello)."

"Colors" itself peaked at #2 for one week behind "Me, Myself & I" by G-Eazy and Bebe Rexha. This was a year before Halsey and G-Eazy would go on to become an item, collaborate with each other on the 2018 #1 "Him & I," and end with an apparently toxic separation, marked with the 7-week #1 "Without Me" that started its run at the top at the end of 2018. In a sense, one could say that their relationship with each other bookended the year.
