I read the report and it seems rooted in shaky stats at best, the statement is probably true for most part but still the actual evidence they used is not reliable. This thread will most likely be a mess filled with subtle and not so subtle racism.

Incompetent governance and uncontrolled population explosion. Reason why Ethiopia is progressing fast.

Nigeria has a MASSIVE wealth inequality. It has a higher GDP per capita than Pakistan yet has nearly half of its population living in extreme poverty.

Also, GDP per capita in many African nations are falling as their population growth rate exceeds their GDP growth rate.

Extreme corruption inside the countries and some meddling form the outside. The corrupt leader get to steal in peace and the thieving more powerful nations get to suck the countries of resources and don't call out the corrupt leaders. Everyone wins except for the citizens.

Mostly the birth rate which is exploding in Africa.

Poor women make more children. And with child death rate falling and life expectancy rising, the number of poor is growing.

Sad but it’s a new country found a few years ago during a civil war. Now the country got its independence but there pretty much another civil war.

This :clap3:.

Poor women don't receive any sex education or may not be able to afford contraception. As a result, they reproduce so they can have more children who will help and look after them in their elderly years.

I would love to see a world where there is no extreme poverty, but as long as there are corrupt leaders, there will be poverty.

I think it's falling. I don't know where they get the data from.
