Positions’ longevity is truly insane

Posted

Hopefully the importance of callouts decreases after they realize they were wrong about Levitating

That's too bad about We're Good, it's not my favorite by her at all but it's still female pop so I wanted to see it succeed

Posted

why isn't Deja Vu debuting?

Potential (05/14)

Pop Score (05/14)

1. Up 84

Why aren't they playing "Up" more then?

one thing that really don't make any sense is when adding recurrents Heartless is #2 and Save Your Tears is #26 in pop score.

article explains how pov showed up early in callouts.

“The fans gravitated to ‘POV,’ which became the obvious choice for the third single.”

Spangler credits John Ivey, president of contemporary hits radio programming strategy at iHeartMedia, for testing “POV” “much earlier than normal” in their internal callout research, before the song started being worked at pop radio. “The results were clear -- listeners were already familiar with the song and loved it,” Spangler says. “That helped drive the momentum for a quick ascent into the top 10.”

I don't get what's confusing about Levitating. Songs have "seasons"

Levitating is a summer smash that was released as a single in the winter...

Like if it's 20F outside and gloomy I most like am not feeling like I want to blast levitating. IMO thats why its callouts were before.

However, in the summer when its 80F + sunny then yeah, blast that ****.

Cool should have been her winter single last year and levitating remix her new single now

Posted

Also "Levitating" is a grower, it basically improved when the people became more familiar with it, too. I didn't love it till maybe 2 months ago tbh. Didn't dislike it before, but didn't turn me so excited as it does right now. It's not another typical pop song, to me it gets time to really enjoy it.

OT: Absolutely surprising debut for MONTERO, didn't imagine such excellent reception, shame radio took too long, hopefully they learn the lesson in the near future.

Very good debut for "deja vu", hopefully it takes off now, it's what it deserves.

Disappointing debut for "Hold On", really was expecting way more, song is amazing, but it's almost having as poor reception as "Anyone" so far.

WG absolutely stuck, and it's just a matter of time for radio to drop it.

On the other hand, I see radio having hope on BM, it's slowly improving, so they might give it some more time considering its other metrics. I am very surprised it received such a poor connection with radio audience.

Well, Ariana is having an insane era on radio, this is by far her most radio acclaimed era. Callouts just prove they're not oversatured of Ari even after being so overplayed.

it's clearly hate at this point towards rappers from top 40 stations because there's no way they keep refusing to play BF, Up and now MONTERO since it's what ppl wants to listen

what they lose in pop, they should get on urban...with the exception of “Montero.” The urban audience is homophobic...

Which is why Pop should be trying to payola Montero to the top. I say Payola but really its callouts are amazing radio should just surge this to #1 tbh

A gay rap smasha!

It’s #7 on pop and rising quickly as well as Top 15 at Rhythmic and charting on HAC. Radio is treating the song well now!

Is it doing that bad on urban??? That format needs to get its sh*t together the internalized homophobia in rap is insane

Truly surprising that Pop is the format which MONTERO is doing the best. :toofunny3:
