Back when competition was much tougher and it was harder to get to the top spot :rip: 

now, with the right amount of payola streams, you can literally be untouchable at the summit

Slay at Janet snatching 2001. I swear she could of lasted much longer had America not done her dirty after the nipple thing. She would of at least lasted until like 2008 ish like Madonna. :'(

I could’ve sworn Katy had 5 number ones in like 2010-2011. Were they not long lasting no.1s?

They lasted long just not as long as the others. Very close though.

Firework is her longest charting no.1 single correct at nine weeks? What other number ones did she release that same year had?

She had 10 weeks overall in 2010 and 9 weeks overall in 2011

Firework only had 4 weeks at #1, but it had several weeks at #2 and overall a lot of longevity for the digital era.

 

Her other #1s in 2010 and 2011 were CA Gurls (6 weeks), Teenage Dream (2 weeks), ET (5 weeks) and Last Friday Night (2 weeks)
