My closing statement for the 2018 ATRL Member's World Cup:

I want to thank all the participants for making this contest complete, but not without several hitches along the way. I want to congratulate @thecptz on her win, @Queen Conchita for finishing in the runner-up role, and @Dibbles for placing 3rd in this competition, along with the rest of the 32 who played.

Even though several setbacks were encountered along the way (some of which were scenarios that were not previously seen and thus had no proper remedies in place), we finally got it done. In 2022, either me or Orfeo will run it, if either or both of us are still on ATRL by then.

To @Orfeo, our host of the last two editions prior to this one: thanks for helping me out on how to correctly apply several unseen scenarios that will now be handled in the future: exhaustion of tiebreakers in group stage (met with a special tiebreak game [regulation+PKs if needed] between the affected clubs to determine seeding and/or who advances to the Round of 16), abandoning of the penalty kick process (punished with a 1-0 forfeit loss), and not having the full schedule posted (figured it out eventually).  Hopefully you'll be able to run this more actively in 2022.

See you all to infinity and beyond for our next edition in 2022!
